A two-alarm fire tore through a home near Birchmount Road and Lawrence Avenue early Friday morning, sending two people to the hospital — one with life-threatening injuries.
Toronto Fire Services (TFS) said crews were called to Dulverton Road in Scarborough just after 1:30 a.m. following reports of heavy smoke and flames coming from a residential property.
Firefighters arrived to find the home engulfed in flames, prompting a second alarm to bring additional crews to the scene.
Two individuals were transported to the hospital; one in critical condition, the other with non-life-threatening injuries.
TFS crews remain at the scene tending to hotspots. The cause of the fire is unknown.
