Last month, during the White House’s Black History Month event that federal officials weren’t sure hadn’t been outlawed by the commander-in-legalizing-white-nationlism, President Donald Trump declared it was the day “we pay tribute to the generations of Black legends, champions, warriors and patriots who helped drive our country forward to greatness.”
“We’re going to look forward to honoring the contributions of countless Black Americans who fought to win and protect and expand American freedom from the very, very beginning,” Trump said.
Now, we all knew Trump was just offloading his latest batch of political posturing, fake racial solidarity and insidious orangey-white nationalist nonsense disguised as racial unity. After all, one would have to be a fool to believe the president who popularized anti-critical race theory propaganda has any interest in celebrating Black history — a history that is impossible to teach in full without calling America the white supremacist nation it has always been.
Anyway, just weeks after Trump’s Anti-Black Hypocrisy Month celebration at the White House, the histories of Black veterans are being scrubbed from federal government websites, including that of Major Baseball League legend and integrator Jackie Robinson.
As of Tuesday evening, a story detailing Robinson’s service in the U.S. Army has disappeared from the Department of Defense’s website, and it has reportedly been replaced by the three letters white conservatives have propagandized to the point they have been made synonymous with the Devil himself in the MAGA mind:
You guessed it — DEI.
From Yahoo Sports:
As KSBW and ESPN’s Jeff Passan noted, the webpage has been scrubbed, and the URL now features “dei” before the story’s headline, indicating it was potentially taken down as part of President Donald Trump’s administration’s efforts to remove diversity, equity and inclusion programs from everything with ties to the federal government.
Robinson isn’t alone in having a webpage taken down from the Pentagon’s website. The Trump Administration drew outrage earlier Tuesday when it gave the Navajo Code Talkers a similar treatment, as well as a Black recipient of the Medal of Honor and Japanese American veterans. In each case, the Trump administration said the removal was a mistake on the part of an automated process and the content would be restored.
Trump loves Black history and all the systemic oppression that comes with it so much that he is determined to make America great again by repeating it while also doing his absolute best to ensure that people can’t truly learn it.
