Drugs, firearms charges laid following search of Centretown home

Two Ottawa residents face firearms and drug-related charges after police executed a search warrant on a Centretown home.
Ottawa Police say members of the Central Neighbourhood Resources Team led an investigation into people suspected of trafficking illicit drugs in Ottawa in March and April.
A search warrant was executed April 16 on a residence in the 200 block of Rochester Street involving the Ottawa Police drug unit, tactical team and patrol officers. 
 
Police seized a loaded shot gun, a large sum of Canadian currency and a substantial quantity of illegal substances including crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, hydromorphone and crack cocaine.
Two Ottawa residents, 51 and 30 years old, have been charged jointly with drug offences as well as several firearms charges, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of proceeds of crime. Both were to appear in court on April 17.
