3 children killed in two-vehicle crash; driver arrested for suspected drunk driving

Three children are dead and a fourth is in hospital following a two-vehicle crash in north Etobicoke.

Police say a vehicle with six occupants was stopped on the eastbound off-ramp of Highway 401 at Renforth Drive when it was struck by another vehicle just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Two children were pronounced dead at the scene while a third child was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

A fourth child and two adults were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Police say the 19-year-old driver of the second vehicle was taken into custody at the scene and faces impaired driving charges.
