Trump Repeats Rigged Election Lie At Kennedy Center

Earlier this year, President Donald Trump announced his administration’s hostile MAGA takeover of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. During his first visit to the D.C. arts institution, after he ousted its leadership and essentially appointed himself chairman, he promoted his intention to revamp the center with a MAGA overhaul that prioritizes right-wing, conservative-friendly art. (I’m imagining stick figures holding American flags and Kid Rock concerts nobaby asked for.) Well, during his latest visit to the center, Trump entertained his audience of MAGA rubes who will believe anything that he says by resurrecting his factless, nonsensical, and evidence-deficient claims that the 2020 presidential race was rigged against him — claims that, at the time, dozens of judges across lower courts, appellate courts and the Supreme Court, the former head of election cybersecurity, Trump’s own attorney general and the Department of Justice said repeatedly had no merit whatsoever.

The idea that the election had been rigged — that voting machines had been programmed to change Trump votes into Joe Biden votes; that dead people were being registered to vote Democrat; that election workers were stuffing ballots in Biden’s favor — was never presented with a shred of tangible evidence, and it has been debunked to death, yet, five years and one election win later, Trump is still pushing his “big lie.”

Trump stood there in all of his petty, insecure absurdity and claimed the only reason he’s president now is that he needed to get his lick back after the presidency was stolen from him four and a half years ago, which it unequivocally was not.

“And then they rigged the election, and then I said, ‘You know what I’ll do? I’ll run again and I’ll shove it up their ass,’” he said to the laughter of his supremely gullible audience of idiots. “So if they would’ve left us alone, and wouldn’t have cheated on the election, and wouldn’t have rigged it, I would’ve been retired right now. I would’ve been happily doing something else. And instead, they have me for four more years. Can you believe that?”

No, we can’t believe it, because there’s absolutely zero truth to it. Trump lost in 2020. He lost the popular vote by seven million and 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232. This isn’t an opinion; it’s an indisputable fact.

But the real question isn’t why he keeps telling the lie, it’s why he feels the need to despite the fact that he won in 2024. I mean, sure, he won by lying about nonexistent rises in crime under Biden, lying about the state of Biden’s economy and how he would fix it, lying about what DEI is and how it works, and telling every racist lie about non-white immigrants his bigoted mind could muster — but he won all the same. So, why is he still so salty about losing that, even after winning, he still feels the need to reintroduce his election fraud propaganda at every opportunity? Why is he out here taking over the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian Institution just so he can use these venues to rewrite even the most recent history when he has already accomplished his pointless goal of reclaiming the White House?

Trump became president again just to be the most miserable, perpetually insecure president, probably in history.

Sad.
