Two pedestrians were transported to hospital with what the Ontario Provincial Police described as “minor and serious injuries” after they were struck by a pickup truck in Prescott on Saturday morning.
An OPP news release said the pickup truck driver, a 55-year-old Prescott resident, had been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm and driving with a coated windshield and window.
He was released from custody and scheduled to appear in court in Brockville on June 27.
The pedestrians were struck at the intersection of King Street East and Edward Street just before noon on Saturday, police said, adding that the intersection remained closed for three hours, but later reopened to traffic.
Prescott is about 95 kilometres south of Ottawa.
