A young girl drowned early Friday in the St. Lawrence River off Wolfe Island near Kingston.
First responders were called to a site near Stony Point Lane at about 9:30 a.m.
Responders and family members attempted to resuscitate the girl, but were not successful.
Provincial police did not identify the child “to safeguard the privacy of the grieving family,” police said on social media.
