Shiro Maruo recently had $2,000 stolen from his flower shop in a string of thefts in which the suspects issued themselves refunds from point-of-sale (POS) devices.

Maruo said a man came into his shop on Danforth Ave., NaNa Florist, on the afternoon of June 21 claiming he wanted to make a purchase with a debit card. But the man left when his card was apparently declined, and told Maruo he’d be back before the store closed.
