Ottawa firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at a Kanata strip mall on Monday afternoon.
A 911 caller reported smoke coming from inside a restaurant’s washroom in the 700 block of Eagleson Road at approximately 2:09 p.m. A second alarm was called at 2:32 p.m., which began to impact nearby units as flames spread through the roof.
Several fire trucks were on scene to tackle the fire until it was declared under control at 3:13 p.m.

An OC Transpo bus was dispatched to the scene to provide shelter for the residents,” firefighters said.
An Ottawa Fire Services investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
