The Ontario Provincial Police has issued a call for public assistance in solving a theft from an Ottawa Valley church in mid-June.
One of the items take from the church on Palmer Road in Palmer Rapids was a large, heavy statue of the Virgin Mary that would have required two people to carry it, an OPP media release said, while other items included brass crosses.
The theft is believed to have occurred between June 17 and 20, the release added.
“The investigation has been unsuccessful so far, and investigators are now turning to local residents for assistance,” it said.
Anyone who saw suspicious activity in that area or who may have relevant doorbell or surveillance video was asked to contact the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident E250817544.
