OC Transpo will debut a new route to the airport from St-Laurent and Hurdman stations on Aug. 24 and will return to school service as part of its fall schedule.
The new Route 105 will run approximately every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the
Ottawa International Airport
.
The route replaces part of Route 197 and some trips on Route 98,
the transit authority
said.
The new route is designed to offer more options for east-end residents accessing the airport, OC Transpo said, and will provide a direct connection to the airport from intercity bus and train service at St-Laurent and Tremblay stations.
During overnight hours when O-Train Line 1 is not running, buses will connect to the airport from Rideau and Hurdman stations. The new overnight service, named Route N105, will replace Route N98.
OC Transpo said it chose the route number 105 “in honour of the Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow, a supersonic aircraft and symbol of Canadian innovation.”
The transit authority is also implementing seasonal service changes and returning to school service on Sunday, with additional route adjustments and adjustments for construction.
OC Transpo will increase frequency of trips on Routes 7 and 25 with a return to higher ridership related to
Carleton University
and
Collège La Cité
.
The 600-series school routes and school trips on regular routes will resume for the new school year. Changes to school service have been made based on ridership levels and in consultation with the four school boards and their student transportation authorities, OC Transpo said.
Labour Day, Sept. 1, will be the last day of special summer weekend service on Route 8 to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, Route 125 to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and Route 139 to Petrie Island.
OC Transpo is making adjustments to Route 58, with most trips extended to run to and from Tunney’s Pasture Station, connecting to O-Train Line 1 and replacing select trips on Route 57.
Trip times will also be slightly adjusted on Routes 25, 30, 32, 33, 35, 39, and 221 departing from Blair Station.
Some routes may be subject to delays and detours due to road construction and other infrastructure projects this fall, OC Transpo said, resulting in additional travel time.
New fall schedules are available on
octranspo.com
and up-to-date information on detours can be found on OC Transpo’s alerts page.
