Firefighter suffers minor injury after crews called to fire in Barrhaven

One firefighter suffered a minor injury as Ottawa Fire Services crews worked at a single family home on North Harrow Drive in Barrhaven on Sunday afternoon.

At 4:03 p.m., the fire service took a 911 call from a neighbour who said they heard alarms ringing in a home in the 10 block of North Harrow.

When firefighters arrived, they confirmed that smoke was visible inside the home and additional resources were called to the scene.

A hose line was brought into the house and the fire was thought to be under control by 4:21.

No occupants were found inside the home.

No details were provided about sort of injury the firefighter suffered.

An investigator was sent to the scene to find out the cause and origin of the fire.
