Ottawa crews quickly put out fire in east Ottawa

Ottawa firefighters made quick work of a fire in east Ottawa late Sunday morning.

Ottawa Fire Services took multiple 911 calls at 11:24 a.m. about a townhome fire in the 500 block of Catleaf Row. Those calling reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the first floor of the home.

Fire crews confirmed, after arriving at the scene, that smoke and flames were visible and additional resources were called to the scene.

A fast attack was started and a hose line was advanced into the building, with the fire being declared under control at 11:43.

Two full searches were conducted, but no occupants were found inside the townhome.

A fire services investigator was sent to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
