A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision with an SUV shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
The motorcyclist, a woman in her 40s, was knocked into a ditch in the collision and had to be removed from there by emergency crews, an Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson said.
In a social media post Sunday afternoon, the Ottawa Police Service said Rideau Valley Drive North was closed between Phelan Road East and Rideau Narrows Drive due to a serious collision. A short time later, police said the road had been reopened.
