A $50,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of Robbie Thomson in Smiths Falls two years ago, the Ontario Provincial Police announced Friday.
Thomson, who would now be 36, was reported missing from the Smiths Falls area on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, but was believed to have gone missing between Oct. 12 and Oct. 18 of that year, police said.
He was described as standing six feet three inches (188 centimetres) tall with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes, and he was known to frequent locations in Smiths Falls and Prescott, police said.
The OPP and the Smiths Falls Police Service have continued to investigate Thomson’s disappearance, an Oct. 10 news release said, adding this had involved multiple searches by the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Aviation Services and Canine Units.
“Investigators have been following up on a variety of information, including tips that have come in from members of the public,” the release said.
Anyone with information about Thomson’s whereabouts or what may have happened to him and who has not yet spoken to police was asked to call the OPP’s dedicated tip line at 1-855-677-4636.
