Two Quebecers face a list of charges after authorities stopped an attempted drone drop of contraband at Millhaven Institution in Bath on Thursday night.
A mixed squad of Correctional Services of Canada and officers from several Ontario Provincial Police detachments launched a joint operation following reports of a possible drone delivery at the prison.
Officers located a suspect vehicle near the site and arrested two people after a brief investigation.
Police said they seized about 120 grams of suspected ecstasy, nearly 150 grams of cannabis, 40 grams of “shatter,” 270 grams of hashish and 100 grams of tobacco.
The drone, cellphones and delivery materials were also found, with an estimated “institutional value” of more than $300,000.
Taha Oulidi, 18, of Terrebonne and Liyess Rakibe, 19, of Repentigny face several drug and weapons charges.
Both were held in custody following a bail hearing in Napanee on Oct. 10.
