A child under the age of 10 has died after being struck by a dump truck on a street in the Overbrook neighbourhood on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesperson said the Ottawa Paramedic Service was called to the scene on Presland Road near Lola Street at about 3:40 p.m.
The Ottawa Police Service posted online that Presland was closed to traffic between Naughton and Frances streets, which are just east of Lola, because of the collision.
No additional details were immediately available Wednesday evening.
