Concert: Andy Bell
One-half of hitmaking synth-pop duo Erasure, Andy Bell (no, not the Oasis guitarist) is responsible for giving voice to such undeniable anthems as “Chains of Love” and “A Little Respect.” The LGBTQ icon will perform those jubilant dance-floor jams and more when his Ten Crowns tour stops at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre (190 Princes’ Blvd.) on Tuesday night. —Doug Brod
Album: Sudan Archives, “The BPM”
L.A. violinist and singer Brittney Parks blends Northeast African fiddlers’ style with classical techniques, an R&B feel and very fresh beats for a sound that’s invigorating when you’re working from home or taking a brisk walk. Her third album picks up the tempo, leaning into electronic experiments and dance-floor energy. But the strings are still strong, her own acoustic and electric violin recordings accentuated with those of the Chicago Black chamber collective D-Composed. —Rani Sheen
Movie: ‘Lurker’
We have been infatuated with talented Quebecois thespian Théodore Pellerin ever since he stole the show in the hidden HBO gem “On Becoming a God in Central Florida” as a nerdy MLM salesman grappling with Kirsten Dunst. Now, he’s got a juicy lead role in “Lurker” (on Mubi), a moody drama about an awkward dude who gloms onto a pop star on the rise and will do whatever it takes to remain in the entourage. —Briony Smith
TV: ‘The Lowdown’
Ethan Hawke is an absolute hoot as Tulsa reporter/bookshop owner Lee Raybon in this new series by Sterlin Harjo of “Reservation Dogs” fame (on Citytv+). Echoes of the Coen brothers abound — particularly in the hero’s Lebowski-isms and the casting of Tim Blake Nelson as a kind of ghostly narrator. The show doesn’t stint on graphic violence as Raybon tries to uncover a conspiracy of white supremacists, but its playful tone and sharp, funny dialogue make it a true pleasure. —Doug Brod
