O-Train Line 2 service has resumed after a partial closure Monday morning for emergency repair work to address vandalism on Rogers’ wireless infrastructure.
Service was previously disrupted between Mooney’s Bay and South Keys stations as emergency crews completed repair work near Walkley Station.
Just after 10 a.m. on Monday morning, a memo to city staff and council announced that service was resuming.
The shutdown was “not due to any Line 2 system issue,” acting general manager of transit services Troy Charter said in the memo.
“We appreciate customers’ patience while Rogers conducted the emergency repairs on their infrastructure,” Charter said.
Emergency work started late Sunday night and was not expected to be complete in time for the start of service on Monday morning.
In the meantime, train service was adjusted “to ensure the safety of technicians working near the tracks,” and replacement bus services were operating between South Keys and Carleton stations.
Line 2 continued to operate in two loops between Bayview and Mooney’s Bay stations and between South Keys and Limebank stations during the service disruptions.
