A 44-year-old Gatineau man faces a number of charges, including attempted homicide, following a three-month investigation.
The case began at about 1:30 p.m. on July 20, when police were called to handle a disturbance involving weapons on Bruxelles Street in the Hull district. Police were told a person had fired a shot at a vehicle, causing non-life-threatening injuries to a second person.
The suspect managed to escape.
In a release Friday, Gatineau police said a suspect was arrested on Oct. 16, in a parking lot on Boulevard Mont-Bleu. Three firearms were seized during the arrest, police said.
The suspect has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon causing bodily harm and a number of firearms-related offences.
He remained in custody Friday.
In a release, police thanked witnesses for providing information that helped resolve the case.
