A 43-year-old Kingston man was killed Saturday night when he was struck by a SUV while walking on Highway 11 at about 9 p.m. near the Township of Elgin southeast of Ottawa.
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
The highway was closed for several hours after the crash, but was reopened by Sunday morning.
An investigation including a number of OPP squads continues.
“The deceased’s identity will not be released to safeguard the privacy of the grieving family,” police said in a release.
A postmortem examination has been ordered.
