Ottawa police have charged two men with a number of charges following “proactive patrols” in the 200 block of Donald Street on Tuesday.
In a social media release said officers with the Vanier/Overbrook Neighbourhood Resource team were conducting patrols on Donald Street at about 1 p.m. when they observed an occupied vehicle and engaged with its occupants.
During the interaction, a cannabis act search was initiated. A considerable quantity of controlled substances were seized, including fentanyl, cocaine, hydromorphone pills, and crystal methamphetamine.
As a result, a 27-year-old man was charged with four counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
A 25-year-old man was charged with three counts of trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with a release order, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and transporting cannabis unlawfully.
