An RCMP officer was reported to be in stable condition in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after he was struck by another vehicle while investigating another collision in Ottawa’s east end on Thursday.
The collision occurred on the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway at about 5:30 p.m.
An Ottawa Police Service officer who was at the scene provided first aid, and Ottawa paramedics, who had been in the area following the earlier collision that resulted in minor injuries, were called back to attend to the injured RCMP officer.
The Ottawa Police Service said it would take the lead on the investigation of the collision involving the RCMP officer.
An OPS news release also said the Sir George Etienne Cartier Parkway would remain closed north of St-Joseph Boulevard during the investigation.
