For those who appreciate a little variety in their weather forecasts, Ottawa looks like it will be showing off a little bit of everything over the next 72 hours or so.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Friday morning, mainly in the Ottawa North, Kanata and Orleans regions.

The rain and/or drizzle could mix with ice pellets or snow at times and leave a “light ice accumulation (on) some surfaces through the morning,” the forecast indicates.

Roads and sidewalks could become slippery, with difficult-to-detect icy patches.

But temperatures are expected to rise above freezing mark as the day goes on, headed towards a possible high of 6 C.

Skies are expected to turn partly cloudy Friday night, with a 40-per-cent chance of showers early Friday evening. Fog patches could move in before morning, with winds up to 15 km/h and low of -4 C.

Saturday’s looking a little touchy. The forecast indicates the fog should disappear through the morning. The wind of about 20 km/h should make the temperature “feel like” -8 through the day.

Saturday night’s low is expected to be about -7 C.

Looking to Sunday, the forecasters are expecting a 30-per-cent chance of showers or flurries, with a high near 4 C. Skies are expected to be cloudy Sunday night, with a low of -2 C.

Finally, Monday looks like sunny skies, with a high of 4 C through the day.
