, but buses were cancelled for two boards outside of the city while schools stayed open.

According to the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority, buses were running at the city’s two major English school boards and two French boards:

  • Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB)
  • Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB)
  • Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE)
  • Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO)

However, the OSTA warned of possible delays, especially in the afternoon, because of the inclement weather.

Meanwhile, Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario announced that buses would not be running for either the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario or the Upper Canada District School Board. Schools in those boards remain open.

A yellow snowfall warning remained in effect Wednesday morning, with 15 to 20 cm of snow expected to fall. The snow is expected to be heavy at times, and visibility made all the worse by blowing snow, according to Environment Canada.

“Travel will likely be challenging. Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush-hour traffic. Visibility will likely be reduced at times,” the agency said in its advisory.
