S&P/TSX composite up nearly 300 points, U.S. stock markets also move higher

TORONTO – Canada’s main stock index was up nearly 300 points in late-morning trading, helped higher by strength in the base metal and energy sectors, while U.S. stock markets also climbed.

The S&P/TSX composite index was up 296.40 points at 32,052.17.
