A 34-year-old Perth man is facing several charges after an OPP intimate partner violence investigation.
The Lanark County detachment began to investigate Sunday just after 7:30 a.m., but by the time police arrived at a Perth residence an individual had fled the scene on foot.
An OPP canine unit and Emergency Response Team members assisted in a search, and a short time later a man was arrested, police said in a news release Monday.
The man, who was not identified to protect the victim’s identity, was charged with assault causing bodily harm; two counts of uttering threats; mischief; assault; failure to comply with a probation order; and cruelty to animals.
The accused, held in custody for a bail hearing, was scheduled to appear in a Perth courtroom at a later date.
