S&P/TSX composite up as oil and gold climb, U.S. stock markets mixed

TORONTO – Canada’s main stock index gained more than 100 points in late-morning trading helped by strength in commodity stocks as the prices of oil and gold climbed, while U.S. stock markets were mixed.

The S&P/TSX composite index was up 124.72 points at 33,127.42.
