Catherine O’Hara was a legendary Canadian actor, comedian and writer whose career spanned five decades. Born in Toronto in 1954, she began her career in sketch comedy in the mid-1970s with The Second City before rising to fame as a cast member and writer on “SCTV,” where she won an Emmy Award in 1982.

She went on to international recognition in films including “Beetlejuice” and the holiday classic “Home Alone.” In later years, O’Hara reached a new generation of fans for her role as Moira Rose on “Schitt’s Creek,” which earned her a second Emmy Award.
