Among the prestigious awards season calendar, the Grammy Awards stands out for its flashy, devil-may-care spirit. Populated with musicians, its dress code is less mermaid gown, more let’s make headlines. After all, this is the red carpet that gave us Jennifer Lopez’s iconic plunging Versace dress, Harry Styles’ jester-inspired jumpsuit and the Taylor Swift floral appliqué minidress still buoying a replica cottage industry five years later.
Could the class of 2026 deliver in similar, out-loud fashion? You bet. With some major hitmakers up for an arm full of statues — Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and Lady Gaga among them — plus a new crop of promising icons-in-waiting (Olivia Dean is a breakout fashion star) a standout style showing was always in the cards.

Lady Gaga
We are blessed to be living in yet another era of unforgettable, totally committed Lady Gaga looks. This raven-like feathered gown, by avant garde Paris-based Canadian designer Matières Fécales, could have been a wardrobe alt for her epic “Abracadabra” video and might just top the list of her most memorable red carpet moments.
Sabrina Carpenter
Whether it’s writing ear-worm pop hits or showing out at every red carpet, taking the top spot in anything she does is the Sabrina Carpenter way (and in back-to-back years, no less). Donning custom Valentino by Alessandro Michele to celebrate her six nominations, the “Man’s Best Friend” artist’s beaded number was part 20s flapper (the Daisy Buchanan-esque flutter sleeves), a touch boho (those sheer, cascading ruffles) and fully her own style.
Olivia Dean
The sonic ray of sunshine stole the show in straight-off-the-runway Chanel. It was party on the top — with a sequined black bodice plus a plume of handcrafted feathers — and ball gown on the bottom (that silk taffeta drape), completely befitting a Best New Artist.
Joni Mitchell
Canadian legend incoming: The 82-year-old recipient of the Best Historical Album award marked the moment in an ombré sequined suit and gold foil beret, proving there’s no age limit for splashing yourself in sparkles.
Addison Rae
Armed with a Best New Artist nomination and her unmistakably Y2K esthetic, the Diet Pepsi singer wore a white, low-high dress with a plunging V neckline that skimmed her bedazzled belly button. It might be one of departing Aläia designer Peter Mulier’s final pieces for the house. If you squinted, it felt like a nod to another major red carpet moment: Björk’s swan dress at the 2001 Oscars.
Bad Bunny
He’s a week out from his Super Bowl halftime performance but Bad Bunny still had time to pull together an extremely dapper Schiaparelli look, complete with a corseted suit jacket and tonal embroidery. The “DtMF” artist is showing us precisely what modern, make-no-apologies menswear can look like.
Rosé
It was a night of firsts for “APT” singer Rosé: the Blackpink star’s first time at the Grammys, plus she’s the first K-pop soloist to be nominated and perform on the prestigious stage. Her custom black velvet minidress by Giambattista Valli Couture — adorned with swathes of contrasting cream fabric that billowed out at the hips — was a confident and savvy style move, despite the slightly off-putting Shirley Temple curls.
Doechii
Boasting the most nominated song of the evening — the TikTok-friendly “Anxiety” — Doechii took a left turn from last year’s exceptional Thom Browne suit for a custom Roberto Cavalli dress with all the late-‘90s trappings: a lace-up bodice, sparkling embellishments and high-shine satin bustle that extended the length of the carpet.
Justin and Hailey Bieber
We’re used to seeing this power couple clashing with their mismatched esthetics (her red strapless minidress and stilettos alongside his grey sweatsuit and trucker hat comes to mind) so it was a pleasant surprise to see how in sync their Grammy looks were. “Swag” nominee and performer Justin wore an oversized Balenciaga suit, Hailey body-skimming Aläia: Both stark black, both adorned with ICE Out pins.
Billie Eilish
The “Wildflower” singer tapped Stockholm brand Hodakova to create a sculptural yet sleek look that combined a bomber jacket, a skirt made from inverted trousers and plenty of undone belts. The look was sustainably crafted from deadstock fabric, staying true to Eilish’s long-held values.
Haim
We’ll always welcome a coordinated girl group on the Grammys red carpet, if only for the nostalgia factor. Tonight, Best Rock Album-nominated Haim did it best. Long-time loyalists to Louis Vuitton, the “I quit” trio donned their individual takes on gem-embellished black satin with thigh-high slits. It was the perfect example of same same but different, fashion edition.
Chappell Roan
Chappell Roan is no stranger to raising eyebrows, but the nominated “The Subway” singer took her audaciousness to new levels wearing a custom Mugler dress made from an ultra-fine mesh material. A matching sheer cape made for somewhat PG red carpet snaps, then she took it off to reveal that the NSFW piece was held up by…nipple rings on…faux nipples.
