S&P/TSX composite rises on broad-based gains, U.S. stock markets also higher

TORONTO – Canada’s main stock index regained some of the ground it lost at the end of last week, while U.S. markets also rose as investors sifted through the latest economic data.  

Ian Chong, portfolio manager for First Avenue Investment Counsel Inc., said the S&P Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index was “constructive for both economies.”
