The Sûreté du Québec has confirmed a Kitigan Zibi man and two children are dead following a shooting incident at the First Nation early Wednesday.
SQ in Abitibi said they were called by Kitigan Zibi Community Police to a residence on Kichi Mikan Street at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday.
One person was pronounced dead at the home.
Two children, a boy aged 10 and a girl 12, were found wounded and rushed to hospital.
They were pronounced dead at hospital, the SQ said.
The Sûreté said they had “no information of any other” persons involved in the incident.
Investigators from the SQ are leading the investigation, with assistance from Kitigan Zibi Community Police.
Kitigan Zibi is about 150 km north of Ottawa.
