A man died and two suspects were in custody following a shooting Wednesday at the intersection of Bankfield Road and Prince of Wales Drive.
The Ottawa Paramedic Service was called to the scene at about 4:30 p.m., a paramedic spokesperson told the Ottawa Citizen.
Responders found one adult male with life-threatening injuries, while another adult male was taken to hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, the paramedic spokesperson added.
The Ottawa Police Service said in a news release Wednesday evening that the one man had died in Ottawa’s third homicide of 2026.
The victim was not being identified pending next-of-kin notification, police said.
Police also said there was no indication of any ongoing risk to the public.
Bankfield Road between Prince of Wales and First Line Road was to remain closed for “several hours”, police said. Police asked the public to avoid the area and to expect significant traffic delays if going there.
The intersection of Bankfield and Prince of Wales is in south Ottawa, in the Manotick area.
