A 51-year-old man from Gatineau was pronounced dead at a regional trauma centre after the pickup truck he was driving was struck by a transport truck on Highway 401 west of Gananoque late Wednesday.

Ontario Provincial Police
said in a media release that the transport driver was not injured in the crash that occurred just before midnight on Feb. 25 on the eastbound portion of the highway.
Neither driver was identified. There were no passengers in either vehicle, police added.
The Leeds County detachment of the OPP was conducting the investigation of the crash with assistance from the OPP’s East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team.
The highway remained closed for approximately eight hours, but reopened Thursday morning.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation, such as dashcam video, was asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident E260257199.
