One person has been charged and a quantity of illicit drugs were seized by the OPP after an automated licence plate reader detected an expired plate in the Clarence‑Rockland area on Saturday, March 28.
In a social media release, OPP said hydromorphone tablets and capsules (an opioid-type drug), more than four grams of suspected crack cocaine, almost 500 grams of dried cannabis bud and suspected hash were seized.
The driver, who was not identified, faces “multiple charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Highway Traffic Act,” police said.
Remember, licence plates will not renew automatically if there is no valid insurance or outstanding unpaid fines.
