After countless American awards shows, it was finally Canada’s turn to take to the red — or rather orange — carpet — and we did not disappoint. The country’s biggest night in music returned as the 2026 Juno Awards brought together the nation’s top artists, breakout stars and industry icons for an evening that honoured the best of homegrown talent and unmistakable style.
The ceremony, hosted by comedian and actor Mae Martin, took place at Hamilton’s TD Coliseum on Sunday night. And while a few major stars like The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Tate McRae were notably absent, the evening still delivered a strong show of national pride and plenty of looks for Canadian fashion lovers to obsess over — even Prime Minister Mark Carney showed off this sartorial skills in a debonair suit.
Politicians aside, this year’s orange carpet was all about personality-driven style and classic tailoring. Sharp suiting was a staple on both men and women. Statement ball gowns in bold colours also made an appearance as well as unique detailing like cowboy-esque fringe, trousers chains and even a beret or two.
If the Junos are a reflection of Canada’s sound, the style there is too — diverse, confident and impossible to ignore.
Here are the best dressed stars at the 2026 Junos.
Nelly Furtado
This was Nelly’s night. The “Maneater” singer was officially inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and to mark the occasion, she leaned all the way in, opting for a striking, sculptural red and black gown by Indigenous designer Lesley Hampton. Paired with Alexis Bittar jewelry, the look felt like a fashion-forward victory lap with just the right amount of drama to celebrate her years of chart-topping success.
Alessia Cara
Alessia Cara has a lot to celebrate. It’s been 10 years since she exploded onto the music scene and she’s released a brand new album, “Love or Lack Thereof,” to commemorate the anniversary. Performing at the ceremony, she had every reason to go big with her look but instead, she did what she does best and kept it cool. In a sleek one-shoulder navy blue gown with soft draping, Cara proved that sometimes less really is more.
Kardinal Offishall
Hip-hop icon Kardinal Offishall topped his all-black ensemble with a statement-making cowhide jacket, a sartorial nod to Western Canada. Shades and a long necklace finished the look and added to his signature swagger.
The Beaches
Sartorial expectations were high for The Beaches, and they more than delivered. The rock stars — who made Juno history as the first all-women band to win Group of the Year three years in a row — leaned into their signature mix of cool-girl chaos and polish. Jordan Miller sported a sculpted Kwame Adusei gown, while Leandra Earl opted for a leather moment by Won Hundred. Kylie Miller went playful with a Sagradesa skirt, and Eliza Enman-McDaniel kept things sleek in a The Sei dress.
Sarah McLachlan
Sarah McLachlan is a minimalist through and through. Before the singer won Adult Contemporary Album of the Year for Better Broken, she stepped onto the orange carpet in a black satin gown with velvet floral detailing, its low-cut, spaghetti-strap silhouette a ’90s signature. Consider it proof that some styles, like McLachlan herself, only get better with time.
Joni Mitchell
Music icon Joni Mitchell graced the 2026 Juno Awards in a rich black velvet dress, complete with a matching beret adorned with a delicate gold bird brooch. Honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award and celebrated onstage by Prime Minister Mark Carney, the moment felt less like a carpet appearance and more like a living piece of music history.
Sofia Camara
Known for turning heartbreak into a full-on soundtrack, Sofia Camara ditched the sad-girl dress formula and suited up instead. Nominated for multiple awards (including Breakthrough Artist of the Year), her oversized pinstriped set was by Naked Wardrobe and accessorized with a loosened tie and spiked silver pocket chain. The Portuguese-born singer served a look for “Girls Like You” that struck the perfect balance between polished and rebellious.
Noeline Hofmann
Say you’re a country singer without saying you’re a country singer! Breakthrough Artist of the Year nominee Noeline Hofmann leaned into western glamour in a tasselled, off-yellow look that swayed with every step. Adding white cowboy boots and a gold horseshoe necklace for good measure, the entire ensemble moved, shimmered and made the case that every award show needs a little yee-haw.
Yves Jarvis
If there were a dress code for experimental cool, Yves Jarvis would be the blueprint. The Montreal singer-songwriter, who was nominated for Alternative Album of the Year, dressed how his music sounds: layered, unexpected and entirely his own. A mixed-pattern tailored suit with a contrasting vest and Gucci hiking shoes shouldn’t work, but somehow, it really does. Add in oversized shades and beat-up leather bag, and the whole thing lands somewhere between vintage academia and indie rock star on the move.
