I have grown agnostic to it and other remedies over the years and have learned to do whatever it takes to maintain my relationship with the patient. If they want to try basically any treatment, as long as it’s not harmful, I see no point in arguing about it. After all, believing something will work is a decent predictor that it will work, at least for a little while, so I would not want to deprive anyone the opportunity to feel better, even if I can’t explain why. It’s a humbling illness.”
