Two models of Volkswagen vehicles have been recalled over a software issue that could prevent the instrument cluster on the display from appearing.
The recall was issued on March 25, and affects 8,040 units of the 2025 Jetta and Taos models. Volkswagen will notify owners of these models by mail and advise them to take their car to a dealership for a software update, Transport Canada said. The instrument cluster may be replaced if necessary.
The display issue means drivers may be unable to see key information like the speedometer, warning lights, and gear selection indicators.
The 2025 and 2026 Jetta models were also affected by a March 11 recall involving the transmission wire. If not connected properly during production, the affected cars could see wiring or other nearby parts overheating, Transport Canada said.
