A 43-year-old man was charged with a handful of offences after being apprehended by the
Ontario Provincial Police
in
Carleton Place
early on Thursday, April 9.
In a release on April 10, the Lanark County detachment of the OPOP said officers had been dispatched to the area of Pattie Lane and Cram Street following reports of an individual carrying a knife and knocking on the doors of several residences.
Upon arrival, officers located a male matching the suspect’s description and took him into custody, the release said, adding that two knives and a brick were seized from the individual.
The man, who was not identified by police, was charged with causing a disturbance, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, being unlawfully in a dwelling, mischief and two counts of failure to comply with probation order.
He remained in custody as of Friday, pending an upcoming bail hearing, police said.
