A 39-year-old Gatineau woman has been identified as the victim in the city’s first homicide of 2026.
A day after the late-night incident on Thursday, April 23, the Gatineau Police Service said the victim had been found shot in an unnamed “establishment” on Main Street in the city’s Lac-Beachamp district.
Police said in a release they were called at about 11:30 p.m.
“Upon arrival, police discovered a victim with serious wounds,” police had said.
Justine Larche was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders, police said in an update on Monday, April 27.
No arrests have been made in the case.
