The Ottawa Police Service wants to hear from anyone who witnessed a collision involving a vehicle and a female pedestrian on Monday night in Barrhaven.

Police were called to the OC Transpo Fallowfield Park & Ride at about 7:20 pm yesterday.

The victim, a 29-year-old woman, is now in hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from the OPS.

It is believed that the vehicle responsible is not an OC Transpo bus, says Julie Kavanagh, a media relations officer of the Ottawa police.

Linda Howie, a Barrhaven resident who did not directly witness the collision but drove by immediately after, says she called 911 at about 7:20 pm yesterday after noticing the victim on the ground at the entrance to the transit hub.

Howie says the victim, who was on the ground and appeared to be unresponsive, was near the middle of the westbound lanes at the pedestrian crossing at Fallowfield Road and Via Park Place.

Investigators are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage from the area last night.

Those with information can reach out to the OPS Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222 extension 2345. Alternatively, tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca.
