Police in Durham Region are investigating after a 64-year-old woman was struck and killed by a dump truck in Ajax.
Investigators say just before 4 p.m. Saturday, the truck was making a right-hand turn from Harwood Avenue South onto Hunt Street when it struck a woman.
Police say life-saving measures were performed but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene.
