Nadia Comaneci was just 14 when she became the breakout star of the 1976 Montreal Olympics. A 4’11” petite powerhouse, the Romanian gymnast scored a historic perfect 10 on the uneven bars at the Games.

The scoreboard was famously unable to display Comaneci’s achievement, as it accommodated only a single digit and two fractionals at the time. She later got a tattoo on her leg of the 1.00 that erroneously flashed up onscreen that day.
