MacLeod had previously backed Mark Sutcliffe in the 2022 mayoral election, but questioned on the livestream whether Ottawa is “a better place, a safer place and a stronger place” than it was four years ago. She also predicted the municipal election would centre on issues including traffic, transit and public safety.
