Guns and Gangs unit continues probe of Aug. 5 shooting

Ottawa police have confirmed that guns and gangs detectives continue to probe a shooting incident on Belisle Street in the Vanier area Wednesday, Aug. 5, that left a male victim with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a social media release, OPS confirmed they were called for a number of gunshots at on Belisle Street around 1:30 a.m.

Paramedics confirmed at the time they had treated a teenaged male for a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police say his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police issued few new details in Thursday’s release, saying it is believed this was a targeted incident, with no suspects in custody.
