Early‑morning fire engulfs Ajax town homes; police investigating

A fire that tore through three town homes in Ajax early Monday is now being treated as suspicious, Durham police say.

Emergency crews were called around 5:05 a.m. to the area of Rossland Road West and Church Street North, where flames had already engulfed multiple units. Firefighters worked to contain the blaze as investigators began assessing the damage.

Police say three town homes were fully involved when officers arrived. No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, but Durham police say the incident is being treated as suspicious.
