Shaw Festival announces 11 shows for 2027 season, including two musicals and a Stoppard satire

For the first time in its history, the Shaw Festival will present two musicals in its main season. 

The company announced Tuesday that its 2027 lineup will feature 11 shows, including the musicals “South Pacific,” by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and “The Color Purple,” based on the Alice Walker novel of the same name and the subsequent 1985 film starring Whoopi Goldberg.
