Tension emerges in second Ontario Liberal leadership debate

The youngest candidate in Ontario’s Liberal leadership race took aim at two rivals — one the presumed front-runner — in a debate that touched on how to revive a party stuck in third place in the legislature since 2018.

Asked what they would do to make life more affordable amid the rising costs brought on in part by U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war, the five candidates put forward their ideas in a 90-minute discussion moderated by CTV journalist Siobhan Morris.
