“(Calandra) can’t take away our personal freedoms,” said Varrette, whose trustee zone covers the Beacon Hill-Cyrville and Orléans West-Innes municipal wards. “He can only take away what we do as official trustees, but as my own person, as a member of society, I can meet whoever I want, whether that’s parents, whether that’s principals, whether that is helping parents navigate the school system.”
