Teen girl struck by vehicle in Scarborough

A 16-year-old girl has been rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries after she was struck by a vehicle in Scarborough.

Toronto police said it happened around 7:15 a.m. in the Markham Road and Blakemanor Boulevard area near Lawrence Avenue East.

Toronto paramedics tell CityNews a 16-year-old girl was assessed and transported to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver remained at the scene.

Police said Markham Road is closed in both directions for the collision investigation. Delays are expected.
